Ocean fix with Ralph and Bill

Got to visit some great friends this past weekend in Pensacola. Everyone endured my need to go walk on the beach and smell ocean air The water there is just crystal clear and the most beautiful colors. And the sand really is like white sugar only really more fine than that. It was a gorgeous day. Then the next day we visited the Naval Air Museum and Wood and Bill got to fly in a REAL F14 Tomcat simulator. They were both grinning from ear to ear and Wood is ready to do it again... and again.... and again. Me- I had dreams that night about training and flying from place to place in little colored airplanes :-)
Ralph and Bill have the most relaxing place with two VERY lovable dogs - Molly and Louise. Can't believe I didn't get a picture of them :-(

Emerson and construction

Emerson came over to play yesterday- all decked out in his Valentine's day finery. He is such a cutie and was so good. We also finally have begun the fix the post project. One of our back porch posts has sunk about 5 or 6 inches. The guys fixing it had to dig down really deep and into the rock under the deck and will build a very very thick support and footing OVER the drain field for the support to sit on. Come to find it, it was placed right on top of the septic system drain field. Bummer! Lots of cement, lots of back breaking digging in tight places.

Wow Window

Went up to the office to do yoga this AM and the storm that blew through around dinner time last night, actually blew one of the windows out of it's frame! Didn't break any glass but Petey and I were both surprised to find the window laying on his blanket! Easily put back in the frame and to lock it, but wow what a shock. We were warned of 50mph winds and I guess maybe we had a gust or two that strong. Petey and I just hunkered down and rode it out, really wasn't as bad as some others we have had. The South does have some exciting storms :-)

Loving Saturdays that feel like spring

I am not sure if winter or summer buzzing with mosquitos is my least favorite season, but today we had a touch of spring and oh was it nice! Went for a walk with Petey at Red Top. Then out to breakfast and to see Taken. I liked it but I had one big body cramp by the time it was over - lots of eye covering scenes for me and I am not sure it is as good as the critics were saying. Enjoyable but not great. Then airing out the house for a bit - letting all the good air from outside in :-) and then off for a wonderful ride on the Beastess. Much warmer today - high 60's than yesterday - believe me 10 degrees on a bike can make a difference. My face didn't have to thaw today. Then off to our favorite Barbecue Street for some good pork and chocolate pie mm mmm mmmmm.

New Digs

Wood and I got to visit Anne in her new digs :-). I love where she lives, works and gets to play. Really cool area. Perfect for going walks in the neighborhood, shopping, having fun :-). And of course being close to a lake, I think may just be one of my new requirements for perfect living locations :-). And the drive to work- although long, has some amazing scenery and a drive I would take just for fun :-). Wood and I had a great time! Sunday morning we drove around beautiful downtown Charlotte. What a pretty city- really! I like it and as you know - I am not usually a fan of cities. Got a lesson in safe driving on the way home though. Almost flipped us trying to avoid a huge hunk of truck tire that popped up in my way. Next time more modified reaction. Key to not flipping - no over reactions :-). We're fine- but it was a good safe driving lesson for me :-). And Wood does not seem to have more gray hair as a result this morning :-) I like hanging out with Anne- and REALLY want to explore her neighborhood shopping fun :-)
