What a weekend

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. First one I can remember in a long time. Wood took Hoss to get a helmet and then on his first Harley ride. He loved it of course. We went to see Indiana Jones on Saturday, Prince Caspian on Sunday and my favorite of the 3, Iron Man on Monday. I LOVED Iron Man!!! Super acting, super story- lots of excitement. LOVED it. We also went on a hike every day. Sat and Sun we did the same ol same ol, but Monday we went on a new hike that opened up around here about a year ago-Pine Mountain. Now the Red top Mountain trails can be a little up and down and can be moderately difficult... depending. But this one was definitely moderately difficult!! A 600 ft climb in half a mile is more than my oh so out of shape legs wanted to do. Heart was ok, just the muscles right below my calfs. Petey kept turning around to see if I was going to catch up or what. Well worth it though when we got to the top and saw the wonderful view of the whole Bartow county and Cobb county area and its surrounding mountains. We'll definitely take the cameras next time. Wood and I have decided to take that hike once a week until it doesn't hurt any more. :-)

Nasty weather and delightful dog

We've had some pretty nasty weather lately and I was commenting naively to Wood about the cool looking clouds out over the lake and he said, Whoa , that is a tornado forming. by the time we both got to our cameras it was already starting to unwind. Lucky for all of us! Doesn't Petey look pitiful. He is trying to convince us that we never feed him and we should share our pizza crusts. Notice the paws carefully placed on Wood's leg just as a reminder of his presence of course. And you can tell, I woke him up with this shot. Favorite night time past time is to fall asleep on top of one of us while we are watching the tube.

my beloved puppy out for another ride

ok a little out of focus but these are the goggles. Didn't stay on long cause he really didn' t like them. and this is what Petey does. Strain to get as far out as he possibly can and keep at least one foot on the knee of the human he is posing on He is off to the groomers tomorrow. yes he needs a trim straining against the new leash and collar/harness to get as far out as he possibly can And look at the poor little guys eyes. see why he needs goggles?

Wood the hippie and goslings living dangerously

Wood is doing the harley growing long hair thing and his mom hadn't seen him since he hadn't had his hair cut. This is for you Gin :-) We had a wonderful time with Bry and Kim playing wii, eating stuff and then playing scrabble. My kind of Mother's day :-) Petey got a new harness collar - I wanted one that hooked in the middle so we could hook a leash to him in the truck and he could easily go back and forth from side to side and pretend to be a hood ornament without me worrying about if we were going to hook our fingers in his collar to make sure he doesn't become a ground ornament squashed.... We also bought him some doggie goggles this weekend - got tired of waiting for the ones we had backordered and found some at a ridiculous froo froo dog pet store (so I guess that makes us ridiculous now too :-) ) Pictures to follow I promise. He can barely keep his eyes open now when he is doing his hood ornament thing so i think these will make it alot better for him. We bought them for him to wear on the beastus (Wood's motorcycle) but I think he will want to wear them while in the truck too. More outside air time - He can't seem to get enough. While in Schaumberg this past week, I saw these geese and their babies casually stolling and munching oh so close to traffic. I hope these are wise parents and quick learning baby geese or they too will be pavement ornaments.
