Spring storm results

There is just nothing like going for a walk at Redtop after a gloriously exciting Thunder and lightning storm the previous evening. We usually go on the Iron hill trail since it is built for trailbikes and gets a little less slippery with the mud and rain. Petey starts putting his paws on our shoulders and licking our faces if we have been up for at least an hour on Saturday and havent started making a move for the hiking boots :-)
Lots of wildflowers starting to pop up. Saw yellow ones, pink ones, purples ones and blue ones. Gonna have to remember my wildflower book next time.
Lake Allatoona is full full full again. We have lost our little beach for afternoon runs, but the fishermen have regained their fishing holes and the lake is humming with activity. We even saw some brave souls out waterskiing this past Saturday. Guess the water must be warming up already
Close to the end of our hike we spotted this tree which had a part just ripped and twisted off of it. We do get some pretty nasty wind and rain storms here. Don't you just love all the moss and the spring green colors everywhere?? Well I have to tell you so do the mosquitos. They are already out in full force. Yesterday morning at 8:30 am it was 70 degrees and 90 % humidity. Perfect mosquito munching weather. Fortunately I have my stock of bug repellent and even remembered to put some on this time :-)
