Ghost Moth

I think this is a ghost moth.... or at least Bryan thinks this is a ghost moth.
Had a great visit with Anne and Mark and Bonnie last week while in DC. But oh so glad to get home. I like to leave porch lights on at night, but doing so makes our porches a grave yard for june bugs and moths. I found this guy out there Saturday morning. Looks like he survived the night of beating himself against our huge porch light. Lights have been off since :-)
Isn't he beautiful?
Came home to our grass finally starting to turn green and the azaleas busting with blooms
We bought some hostas wholesale so they were looking just like roots with a teeny shoot. Planted them last Saturday and a week later they are popping up like crazy.

Google maps - not!

Well I guess I can never trust Google maps again!!! I had to rent a car on this trip to DC because I will be visiting a school in Laurel MD tomorrow. So I decided to stay in Silver Springs which is on the red line for after I turn in the car and therefore an easy metro trip into DC for the rest of the trip as well as only about 20 minutes away from the school. So I trustfully Google how to get from DCA to the hotel in Silver Springs. I with great trust follow the directions out the airport and through downtown until I realize they are taking me to the White House and the wrong direction!!! Ok, so driving in downtown DC is worse then driving in downtown SF - no hills that you can't see over, but more circles than you can shake a stick at. Also I am sure the scheme of streets made sense to someone, but obviously not enough sense to the person that made up the rental car map to include most of them. So it is pouring rain, I am in a strange land in a strange car and pretty lost. So I call the hotel and get a wonderfully patient man who ends up having to talk to me several times before I finally end up on the right street and can drive to the hotel about 30 miles away from where Google wanted me to go. I don't think I can trust them again. :-)

Petey's first ride

Petey's carrier arrived today. Still waiting on the goggles so we couldn't take him on a real ride. He wasn't too keen getting into the carrier, but he LOVED the ride. This dog is a wind in the face kind of guy

Spring at Redtop

Spring at our house means, butterflies, moths of every color and my favorite the lizards and anoles! Petey just LOVES to walk in the woods I just love all the different greens I am beyond happy that our lake is full again, but that muck on the shore.... that is pollen. The month of April in Georgia usually means that everything turns yellow, even the water. Our deck is yellow the cars are yellow. There really is no escape until the trees have finished leafing out. I'll take it though... it is beautiful here

Dead as a door nail

My computer decided to die this week. Well let me be more specific. It decided to let anyway to connect to the internet die!!! I am in mourning. I am hoping that Bry can wave a magic wand over it yet again and ressurrect the -oh-so-ancient- as -in 4 years- computer and get me back in the saddle. If not, I have graciously been leant computer time on Wood's spiffy 3 month old computer. Work has been torturious the last couple of weeks which is another reason that once I am off my work computer I don't want to see another one for at least 8 hours. I had kind of a meltdown yesterday morning so glad for the weekend to recover. Things are a wee bit crazy and busy and even more wet cement, shifting sand or (maybe it is quick sand) however you say, things are moving and changing faster than you can blink. So glad to kind of veg this weekend and enjoy new patio furniture and plants and family :-) I too have lizard pictures to post but need to wait until I get my computer to gasp yet again, or take the plunge and get a new one... gulp. any suggestions?
